The Galaxy S2 Skyrocket has been out for some time now, but it’s finally getting an official update to Ice Cream Sandwich (months after a working build was leaked). According to reports on XDA-Developers, users have noticed the upgrade being available for download via Samsung Kies. The update brings the phone up to Android 4.0.4 instead of 4.0.3 of the previously leaked build, which means it’s on the latest version of Ice Cream Sandwich.

Rooted users are advised to wait for a pre-rooted version of the update so you won’t lose root access, while everybody else can just proceed with the update normally. Galaxy S2 Skyrocket owners – be sure to back up your important data before attempting an update. Let us know how it goes for you.
