A couple of days ago, we reported that there was some speculation that Quake 5 could be announced at the upcoming Quake Con which will be taking place in early August. Since it is only speculation, we guess it’s pretty much up in the air at the moment. That being said, id Software, the developers behind the Quake franchise have recently added a job listing that is seeking a programmer to create a UI for “an unannounced game on future-generation consoles.” The position also calls for the applicant to be familiar with id Software, games, characters, brands and universes. As Joystiq has pointed out, this could mean that we could be looking at Wolfenstein, Doom, Quake, Rage or maybe even Commander Keen. We doubt this game will be announced at the upcoming Quake Con, but if you’ve enjoyed id Software’s releases to date, then this might be a game worth looking forward to. Either way our eyes and ears are peeled for more info, so be sure to check back with us at a later date for updates!
