More than a week ago, we realized that there is a slimmer PS3 in the works – the CECH-4000 model, and while not full frontal shots of the console were shown, it was only a matter of time. Today marks the first leaks of spy shots of the new, redesigned console from Sony, which was leaked by Brazilian website Tecnoblog. The photos that you see above do indicate that the slot-loading optical drive is no more, with the possibility that it has been replaced by a pop-up tray or sliding tray.

Located in front would be the pair of USB 2.0 ports that have not gone anywhere since they appeared on the original PS3, in addition to a removable 2.5-inch hard drive. When you flip the slim PS3 around, there is a solitary HDMI port that caters for all the High Definition goodness, an Ethernet port, a digital audio out (optical), AV multi-out and a power cable port. A trio of models were included in the leak, where they all sport different internal storage. The CECH-4011A, CECH-4011B and CECH-4011C will come with 16GB, 250GB and 500GB, respectively, according to the leak. 16GB does sound out of place, and 160GB would be a more comfortable figure.
