Looking for an app to challenge your musical prowess? Well, you can look no further than Tachyon, an app by Jordan Rudess and Kevin Chartier, keyboardist of Dream Theater and the creator of MorphWiz respectively. Designed for iOS devices, this app allows you to create music with two instruments at the same time, while enjoying an entertaining visual presentation at the same time. For you Dream Theater fans, Tachyon contains a sound library imported from Rudess’ own collection of sounds – including those that he uses on tour with Dream Theater.
I haven’t given it a shot myself, but judging by early positive reviews and comments about the app, it looks like a pretty impressive app that should satisfy most musicians with iOS devices. Tachyon is available now on the Apple App Store for $1.99. Video demonstration of the app below:
