We did take a look at the Acer Liquid Gallant Solo’s user guide four days ago, while armed with the knowledge that the Acer Liquid Gallant Duo has a couple of SIM card slots so that you need not tote an additional handset being the busy bee that you are, but here we are with the knowledge that both smartphones have just been announced on an official basis – in fact, 10 days before the IFA event kicks off in Berlin. Acer does not seem to carry any intention to hold a press conference like other smartphone manufacturers, and hopefully this is not due to the trimming in their budget department, but the new smartphones ought to appear in Acer’s booth from August 31st onwards.

At first glance, the Acer Liquid Gallant and Liquid Gallant Duo do seem to look identical, albeit as mentioned above, the latter carries two SIM card slots for dual-standby support. These will not be high end devices when you take their hardware specifications into consideration, sporting a 4.3-inch qHD LCD display alongside a single-core 1GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor, accompanied by 1GB RAM, PowerVR SGX531 GPU, a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, 4GB of internal memory, a microSD memory card slot, Wi-Fi, GPS, and Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity, running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich right out of the box.

You can pick them up in Ceramic White and Gentle Black sometime in September, although there is no word on pricing to date.
