Just a couple of days ago, we took a look at the Sony Xperia J aka ST26i, and here we are with yet another smartphone preview courtesy of Sergei Kuzmin of Mobile Review fame, coming in the form of the Sony Xperia Go, where some prefer to call it by its codename, the ST27i. Some others might call it the Sony Xperia advance, but as the bard once said, a rose by any other name, would smell just as sweet. The Xperia Go had already arrived at the FCC back in June, having its manual released a month later, but here is the skinny on the Xperia Go from Sergei Kuzmin’s perspective.

This rectangular smartphone might not be expensive, but neither is it corny cheap in any way. It will come in black, white and yellow shades, boasting a rough plastic feel on the chassis that adds that touch of class. Measuring 111mm x 60.3mm x 9.8mm and tipping the scales at 110 grams, the Sony Xperia Go will come with a non-removable battery (not something everyone would be pleased to hear), a 3.5″ display at a rather basic 480 x 320 pixels, as well as a special coating on the touchscreen display that works even with wet fingers.

Touted to run on Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread, it will be powered by a NovaThor U8500 dual-core Cortex A9 processor at 1GHz, accompanied by 512MB RAM, DLNA support, Bluetooth 3.0 and Wi-Fi connectivity, 8GB of internal memory, a 5-megapixel rear camera, and a microSD memory card slot. Do you think you are interested in the Sony Xperia Go when it finally arrives?
