We’re not sure how many of you guys are fans of pico projectors, but in case you are and you can appreciate perhaps your laptop or tablet to project slideshows, word documents, movies and the likes, you might be interested to learn that a company dubbed STMicroelectronics has recently acquired an Israeli company by the name of bTendo. This is important to note because both companies have worked together in the past to produce a projector that can fit into a module measuring 1.7 cubic centimeters and is less than 5mm thick. The company plans to introduce this technology into future smartphones, digital cameras and laptops and reportedly have given out samples of their technology to potential customers. Naturally they declined to name their customers but it will be interesting to see if pico projectors will become more mainstream or if it end up just being a novelty. What do you guys think? Would you like your future mobile devices to sport integrated projectors?
