Most of the tech gadgets that have gained traction in recent days, from smartphones to tablets, target a rather general audience, with a wide age bracket. That is probably the reason why so many devices simply lack sufficient parental controls. So parents have to think twice before handing over such devices to their kids.

This may change with MG, a new Android gaming device in the making which is meant exclusively for  kids. It’s a fairly simple device which runs on Android, comes pre-loaded with a number of games and doesn’t feature any connectivity options or even a camera. And that is precisely why, PlayMG believes its upcoming device is good enough for the kids.

According to Taylor Cavanah who works at PlayMG, “We talked to a lot of kids whose parents only have feature phones. They might have a 3DS or something like that, but they don’t have any access to something like this unless they’re hanging out at their friend’s house”

MG packs a 1GHz Cortex A5 processor, 1GB DDR3 RAM, 4GB of internal storage which can be expanded via microSD and a Wi-Fi radio. It also comes with a number of sensors which would be required by a number of modern day games, including an acceleremoter amongst others.

The device will be available to early bidders for a mere $99 whereas the standard price is going to be $170. It is going to hit the stores during the holiday season this year.
