If you’ve ever torrented movies, music, TV shows, games, software and etc., or if you still do that, you’re probably aware that there is a good chance that you will get caught by the authorities. However we’re also sure that some of you guys subscribe to the notion that with thousands of people downloading at once, why would they choose you, right? Well in a recent study done by the Birmingham University in the UK, it shows that those who download torrents, especially the popular ones, you are apparently being monitored by up to 10 different monitoring entities.
Some of these entities are security companies, probably on the lookout for malware or new viruses, while other entities include copyright firms and torrent researchers. There were apparently more entities involved but their identities have been masked, leaving us to wonder if perhaps these are the authorities. In any case you’re probably aware that downloading torrents of copyrighted material is illegal in the first place, but if you ever needed a reason to stop, perhaps this is something worth thinking about.Related articles:
