If you have half a grand to spend for the upcoming holiday season for a tablet, would you want to fall back on the Android platform, be a proud iOS-powered iPad owner, or would want to venture into the unknown (as at press time anyways) with the Windows 8-powered Acer Iconia W510 tablet? That really depends on what floats your boat, but the Intel Atom-based Acer Iconia W510 will arrive this November 9th at $499.99 a pop, tipping the scales at 1.32 pounds to boot.

There will be three other price points other than the half grand one, where all of them will run on the 1.5GHz Intel Atom Z2760 “Clover Trail” dual-core processor. Touted to deliver up to nine hours of battery life, it remains to be seen in the situation of real world usage. All models cannot be differentiated by their display either – which is a 10.1″ 1366×768 IPS touchscreen that comes covered with Gorilla Glass, 2GB RAM, 802.11n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, a 2 megapixel front-facing camera, and an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera. Other options include micro HDMI and microUSB 2.0 ports, as well as a microSD memory card reader.

32GB and 64GB models will retail for $499.99 and $599.99, respectively, while for $749.99, you get to enjoy the benefit of a keyboard dock that comes with a full-size USB 2.0 port and a secondary battery. Last but not least, you can party with the $799.99 configuration which sings a tune that targets business users, calling it the Iconia W510P.
