The Mass Effect franchise might not be that big a blockbuster like Call of Duty or Battlefield, raking in the kind of mad money that only Hollywood used to see during the “opening weekend”, but it is still a gaming franchise to be reckoned with. The number of gamers who have followed the adventures of Commander Shepard have somewhat grown attached to the entire storyline and characters, not to mention the world of Mass Effect. In fact, we are quite sure that a future Mass Effect release would do very well, since there is still plenty of momentum and interest in the title. The thing is, Mass Effect 3 producer Mike Gamble has confirmed that there will be another version of Mass Effect, but it might not be called Mass Effect 4, and it surely will not be released next year – with him looking farther ahead at a late 2014 or early 2015 release.

Considering the rather future forward release date, you can be quite sure that the next version of Mass Effect will most definitely appear on a next generation console, and just to further consolidate what Gamble mentioned, here are his very own words, “You’ll hear more about the new Mass Effect game in 2013. I honestly can’t tell you an exact [date] because full development on the game started a month or two ago.”
