Given that the past few iPhone devices have relied on the 30-pin dock connector, finding a sound dock for your iPhone regardless of its generation would be easy, but that changed when Apple introduced the Lightning connector with the iPhone 5. Well the good news is that if you’re in the market for a sound dock compatible with your iPhone 5 without needing the adapter, Bose has unveiled the SoundDock III, the company’s latest dock that will play nice with your iPhone 5. The SoundDock III appears to be relatively similar to the SoundDock II, with the exception of the connector, and according to its website, the SoundDock III will retail for $249.95 and it is expected to ship within 7-10 business days, making it a perfect gift for Christmas.

Bose isn’t the first to introduce Lightning-compatible devices – Philips and JBL have also unveiled similar offerings not too long ago, but if you’re a fan of Bose’s products and are willing to spend that kind of money, then perhaps the SoundDock III could be the perfect speaker dock for you.
