U.S. mobile phone service provider MetroPCS has just introduced a new 4G LTE-enabled Android smartphone from ZTE. Called the ZTE Avid 4G, its main selling point is its LTE capability and its cheap price, which is set at $149. MetroPCS says that the company is trying to offer the best value to its customers for the holiday season. The Avid 4G sports a 4-inch display with a 800 x 480 resolution, and it is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor.

The device also features a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, a VGA front-facing camera, and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Obviously, this isn’t the “dream phone” for many, but it’s a nice entry-level phone for users who browse a lot and use social networking services often. The ZTE Avid 4G is available together with any of MetroPCS’s standard LTE service plans ranging from $40 to $70 per month, and for a limited-time promotional plans with LTE for $30, and unlimited 4G LTE for $55.
