[CES 2013] While our smartphones are certainly capable of taking pretty amazing photographs, they still lack certain features that compact cameras have to offer, which is why if you’re in the market for a digital compact camera with a long zoom, Fujifilm might have something to offer in the form of the FinePix T550. Featuring a FUJINON 12x long zoom lens (24-288mm), Fujifilm boasts this camera as not only being friendly for your pocket or your bag, but at the same time offering up a long zoom lens which presumably will be useful for those who want the flexibility. The T550 will also feature 24x Intelligent Digital Zoom and at the same time employ Optical Image Stabilization which should help with camera shake and blur images associated with long zoom lenses. Fujifilm claims that with OIS, the need for a tripod or other forms of support will not be necessary, but we have yet to try this out for ourselves so we can’t really attest to that statement. The T550 will come with a 16MP CCD sensor and will be able to shoot up to ISO 3200, with movies recording at 720p HD quality while images at 16:9 aspect ratios can be captured simultaneously. Compared to its predecessor, the T400, the T550 boasts an autofocus time of 20% faster.

On top of that, the T550 will also come with a 3” 460K-dot LCD along with a variety of filters that users can apply to their photos to make things a little more interesting, such as Pop Color, Toy Camera, Miniature, Partial Color, Soft Focus and Cross Screen. If you’re interested in picking up the Fujifilm FinePix T550, you can expect to find them in stores come March 2013 for $159.95 and it will be available in a trio of colors: black, white or red.
