IK Multimedia has just announced its latest portable speakers that are built primarily for musicians. Enter the iLoud Series, touted by its maker for its pristine frequency response and amazing low-end sound in a portable form factor. Basically there are two models in the iLoud Series – the iLoud and the iLoud MINI. Both models offer the capability to compose, record, and mix music within its system.
The iLoud speaker features a portable audio monitoring system that is designed for mobile devices. The 40W speaker also features a 2-way system, stereo monitoring in a single unit, DSP processing, 60 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response, resonance-free tuned bass-reflex enclosure, Bluetooth connectivity, auto standby feature, four Class-D amplifiers, bi-amped system (2 x 3-inch neodymium woofers and 2 x 3/4-inch neodymium tweeters), and a iRig circuit. It retails for $299.99 and will be available in Q2 this year.
On the other hand, the iLoud MINI, priced at $199.99, features a portable compact stereo speaker, Class-D power amplifiers, 1/8-inch stereo line input, DSP control, low frequency articulation, Bluetooth connectivity, and a USB-rechargeable Li-Ion battery with smart management feature and auto standby. The $199.99-value iLoud MINI will also be available in the second quarter of this year.
