Good news to those who have been waiting for some time for the Portico update to arrive on the Nokia Lumia 820 as well as the Lumia 920 – it seems that a global rollout is on its way thank to what Nokia Community Manager Micheals has written in the Nokia Forums.

A Nokia Lumia Windows Phone 8 software update providing performance enhancements for the Nokia Lumia 820 and Nokia Lumia 920 has started rolling out over the air. Delivery will continue in a phased manner over the coming weeks and is expected to be complete by mid-March. You will receive a notification on your phone when the update is available for you to download.

This particular Portico update will offer enhancements in Messaging, the ability to “Select All” for mass deletion, text replies to incoming calls for those quirky situations, improvements made to Internet Explorer, a more efficient and reliable Bluetooth connection, a better start-up sequence, enhancements in imaging performance and battery management, among others. Better late than never, right?
