Instagram, the wildly popular app that had recently surpassed the 100 million user milestone and also said no to the BlackBerry 10 platform, looks set to hit the Windows Phone operating system after all, which is good news for Windows Phone users who were originally deprived of the presence of Instagram on their mobile platform. How did this bit of speculation come about? Well, it was not too long ago that someone spotted the Instagram icon on a Nokia Lumia 620 promotion banner, which certainly sent the tech world abuzz.

Could it just be a poorly done Photoshop job for the promotional banner, that the person behind it had absolutely no clue that Instagram was not available on Windows Phone? Still, this particular rumor haled from China, which is starting to be a powerhouse for leaks (most of them accurate so far), which could very well indicate that Instagram is coming to the Windows Phone platform. Of course, if this bit of rumor were to be true, then only Windows Phone 8 owners will “benefit”, so to speak, from its release, while Windows Phone 7.8 users miss out on this particular boat.
