Nokia Fans Spoof Samsung’s Announcement Ad

Yesterday was definitely a big day for Samsung as they took the wraps off their brand new Galaxy S4. At the same time this meant that Samsung’s competitors had a ton of fodder to use in trying to convince the world that their products were better. In this case, a bunch of Nokia Lumia fans made a parody video in which Jeremy, the little kid from the official Samsung teaser videos, received a call during filming and lo and behold, what phone was he caught with? A Nokia Lumia device, of course! The all-too-family Nokia ringtone went off and Jeremy was shocked and quickly grabbed his phone and hid it behind his back.

Of course this isn’t the same actor as Jeremy from the commercials, but he was dressed in the same way and even had the same Samsung Galaxy Unpacked box. Anyway it’s pretty funny and if you’ve got a minute to spare, be sure to check it out in the video above.

Galaxy S4: The Galaxy S4 is the current top of the line Samsung smartphone and has been rumored about since September 2012. Revealed on March 14th in New York City, the Galaxy S4 features a 13 Megapixel camera, a 2600mAh battery and 16/32/64GB of internal storage (+microSD slot). In terms of display size, Samsung has chosen a 5" 1080p (1920x1080), which puts it closer to the Galaxy Note 2. The Galaxy S4 comes in several hardware variants, some of which use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor at 1.9GHz, while others use the Samsung Exynos Octa chip at 1.6GHZ or 1.8GHZ.

Nokia: Nokia is a Finnish communications company that was the largest phone vendor (per unit) between 1988 to 2012. The company's history go back to 1871 but the Nokia that we know today (the Nokia corporation) was founded in 1967 by the merger of three Finnish companies. It is then that Nokia worked on networking equipment and was ultimately involved in the launch of the first cellular network in 1981 (Mobira Oy). Nokia because a key developer of GSM, the standard that we all know today. Although Nokia still produces a range of phones that includes entry-level handsets and Symbian smartphones, the company is counting on the Windows Phone OS to regain the share that it once had. The current flagship Windows Phone device from Nokia is the Lumia 920.

Samsung: Samsung is a South-Korean conglomerate which counts many subsidiaries like Samsung Electronics, which you probably know very well, but also Samsung Heavy Industries which builds ships, or Samsung Life Insurance, Samsung Securities and many more. Samsung is responsible for an amazing 20% of South Korea's exports. In the consumer electronics world, Samsung has gone from being a company with a reputation for cheap products to becoming one of the most respected companies in the world.
