led-brightness-xperiaWe have seen our fair share of news concerning Sony Xperia devices in the past, including the slew of 2011 Xperia devices getting the Jelly Bean operating system update, where the Sony Xperia Play was one of them. Well, if there is one pet peeve that folks have concerning the LED notification light on their handset, it would be the fact that it is just too plain dull, lacking in brightness to grab your attention. This has surely led you to miss incoming calls or unread text messages and email, and if you are one who likes to figure out different ways on improving existing systems and devices, perhaps this new mod (from the following forum thread) might just do the trick.

Basically, this mod will target owners of the 2011 range of Sony Xperia handsets which run on stock firmware, where you can choose from Standard, High and Ultra packages. The mod can be installed via recovery, and what you see above is an example on the amount of difference it makes to your LED notification light. Proceed at your own risk, and someone should really do a battery life check on how much more juice it consumes at the brightest level throughout the day. Negligible, I would presume, but it is always better to be sure.
