One of Sony’s most beloved platformers, Ratchet & Clank, has always been a series its fans could certainly see turned into a feature film considering how quirky its characters are as well as each games’ hilarious writing style. It looks as though Ratchet & Clank developer Insomniac Games thought so too, which is why they announced an animated film is currently in production.

The Ratchet & Clank movie is slated for a 2015 release and will star a number of its most iconic characters in a 3D feature film. The movie is being written by Insomniac’s TJ Fixman, who has been in charge for the writing for recent entries in the Ratchet & Clank series. The film will look back at Ratchet & Clank’s humble beginnings and will use Insomniac’s knowledge of the series to create a “deeper, more meaningful story.” The voice actors who play Ratchet, Clank and Qwark have all been confirmed to lend their voice talents once again to their respective characters, but we’re sure more a number of voice actors from the series will also be on board once the film is finalized.
