t-mobile-new-plans

Last month T-Mobile announced its Uncarrier plans, the announcement led to Verizon subscribers urging their carrier to drop wireless contracts as well. However T-Mobile is now being heavily criticized by Washington State Attorney General Bob Ferguson, who ordered T-Mobile to amend its “deceptive advertising that promised consumers no annual contracts.” Despite the fact that T-Mobile’s Uncarrier plans are no longer tied with cell service contracts or smartphone subsidies, it is criticized for having misled customers by advertising what it said to be contract free plans, while in reality users have to sign an agreement to pay full cost of handsets if they cancel their Uncarrier service plan before time.

T-Mobile has now signed an Assurance of Discontinuance, it will no longer advertise that customers can get wireless service and devices without any restrictions. T-Mobile will also disclose to customers that they will have to pay the balance due on the device if they cancel their wireless service plan. Those who purchased a device under this plan between 26th of March and 25th of April are now given the option of cancelling without any penalty.
