roll-flashlightJapan does have its fair share of quirky devices to date, and this time around we have this sheet of paper that, well, basically brings light to wherever it is required. Just how does paper carry all the relevant kind of wizardry required to let this happen? Surely this is not a relic from Hogwarts, is it? Well, it seems that this particular sheet of paper is actually a handy torch in disguise. To the untrained eye, it definitely resembles a regular piece of paper, but if you were to look closely at this Kazuhiro Yamanaka-inspired device, it can be rolled up into a cylindrical tube, revealing a couple of cleverly hidden switches that will be able to power up an attached LED for instant illumination regardless of where you are.

Want to turn it off? It would be as simple as putting this unique paper down, and unroll it, and the light will turn itself off automatically. This is definitely the ideal portable light source for those who have absolutely no more space left in their bags to carry something as important as a flashlight, and I believe it could come handy during emergencies.
