samsung_logoSamsung’s success with their Android devices are certainly nothing to laugh at, but is it possible that Samsung could reach Apple’s cult status in which many view the company as an innovator of sorts? According to a global rating agency called Fitch Ratings, it seems that they believe Samsung has yet to reach that “innovative” status that Apple has. According to Alvin Lim, the director of corporate ratings at the company, “Samsung has yet to prove its ‘creative’ innovation, which means the creation of a new product or a market segment that hasn’t existed before.”

We have to admit that does not sound very flattering, but at the same time if one were to read in between the lines, it would suggest that Samsung still has a lot of growth in them. The report from Fitch Ratings has also suggested that one of the reasons why Samsung might not be able to hit that level would be their “over-reliance” on Google’s Android software, which we guess might be true considering that Samsung’s commercial successes have been pretty much thanks to its Galaxy S-series of Android phones. Could Samsung’s upcoming Tizen handset help catapult the company to “creative innovative” status? We guess we will have to wait and see, but what do you guys think? Do you agree with this report?
