The Seattle based aircraft manufacturer has announced that the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner has entered in to final assembly stage. This newest member of the Dreamliner family has a fuselage that larger by 20 feet as compared to the 787. What this means is that the 787-9 will be able to carry an additional 40 passengers and fly 300 miles more all while consuming 20% less jet fuel as compared to similar aircraft. Boeing expects that it will be able to deliver the 787-9 Dreamliner early next year.
The 787 Dreamliner was grounded for quite a few months earlier this year because of the flaws discovered in its battery system, which were causing it to overheat. The FAA finally un-grounded Boeing’s latest aircraft last month, thus resuming Dreamliner flights all around the world. The company tediously tested its new battery systems and had them approved by the FAA. Manufactured mainly from carbon fiber composites, this aircraft is said to revolutionize not only the process of building an airplane, but the experience of flying as well.
