geniiOne of the major drawbacks to most smartphones these days is unlike feature phones back in the day, smartphones for the most part lack dedicated media control keys. For example iOS users will need to double press the home button to call up the music controls on their phone, which honestly seems like a pretty quick way to wear it out, which is where the Genii case comes in. As you can see in the image above, the Genii case is an iPhone case that will add some physical and flashing media buttons to your iPhone device.

Unfortunately it also appears to add on a bit of bulk, but we guess for those who don’t mind then this will be a non-issue. The case will add four buttons that users can use to control their media, such as pause, play and skipping. As you can see, there are LED lights associated with the case as well and they’re not just for show. Thanks to the companion app, users can use the LED lights as a form of notification that they can associate with apps such as for missed calls, messages, status updates and etc.

The Genii case will pair with your iPhone using the Bluetooth 4.0 standard which means it should last you a week on a single charge, and priced at $69, it is currently a Kickstarter project seeking funding so if you’d like to learn more or donate, head on over to its Kickstarter page for the details.
