htc-butterfly-s-desire-600The folks over at Engadget have received an invitation from the good people over at HTC, where both HTC as well as Taiwanese carrier Chunghwa Telecom will hold a joint press event this coming June 19th. It seems that there will be a couple of smartphones that will be rolling out in Taiwan then – the HTC Desire 600 which features BoomSound technology as well as a 4.5” display, alongside a spanking new Butterfly S. The latter would seem to be a rather interesting proposition – would it end up as HTC’s new flagship smartphone, at least over there?

No hardware specifications for either device have been listed in the invitation, but there are rumors surrounding the HTC Butterfly S which are said to have it come with a 5-inch display, although you will find that the camera will no longer be an ordinary shooter, but rather, it will be replaced by an UltraPixel version. I guess in terms of its camera, this would place it to be on par with the current flagship, the HTC One, and the body is allegedly going to be thicker so that you can pack in a larger battery. Oh yeah, and not forgetting the possibility of a microSD memory card slot.
