Yes, we did get a whiff of news that Microsoft’s Surface Pro has already debuted in the Land of the Rising Sun, which is a few months after the Microsoft Surface RT tablet first went on sale in Japan earlier this March. Well, sales of the Surface RT tablet might not be doing too hot at the moment – at least in Japan, which could very well explain the presence of the Windows RT device being spotted in the latest Ghost in the Shell anime film series Arise that you can watch in a short above.

It is said that the first of four 50-minute episodes of this series are on the way to roll out in Japan later this month, and to see the Surface RT device in there is not too surprising considering how Microsoft has already decided to team-up with the film series’ creators at Production I.G., by rolling out a quick three minute original Ghost in the Shell short film. This particular film does not have any kind of dialogue, so it relies on powerful storytelling in the shortest time possible to get the message across. Oh yeah, we do admit that it is some pretty nifty product placement, too!
