grostorewefarmLove or hate the freemium model, it’s definitely here to stay. After all with the developers of Candy Crush reportedly raking in an estimate of $633k a day, which developer wouldn’t want that for themselves, right? Well it looks like $633k is only the tip of the iceberg because according to Boss Alien founder, Jason Avent who spoke at a Develop Conference in Brighton, Avent predicted that in the next four years, it is possible that a freemium game that is immensely popular could even bring in millions on a daily basis.

According to GamesIndustry, Avent was quoted as saying, “I think that, in the next three or four years, one game could make $10 million a day.” As it stands one game in Japan is almost halfway there and it is in the form of Puzzle & Dragons, which reportedly manages to rake in $4 million per day in Japan. We wouldn’t be surprised if this were to come true, after all paid apps for phones were available since feature phones, and it was years later that purchasing apps became the norm for smartphones, so why shouldn’t in-app purchasing become widely accepted as well? What do you guys think? Assuming you are against in-app purchases and would rather pay a one-off fee for a game, do you think you’ll be singing a different tune four years from now?
