If you’re on the fence whether or not you plan on buying an Xbox One or PlayStation 4, this fall could be an extremely confusing time for you as you probably don’t know if you should purchase a current-generation version of your game or if you should wait until the dust clears and purchase a next-generation version. With a new promotion GameStop is offering, now that decision won’t be as difficult as it sounds, at least for potential Xbox One customers.

GameStop is offering its customers a $50 trade-in credit for select Xbox 360 games if they choose to upgrade to an Xbox One version of that same game. The titles GameStop is including in its promotion are the standard editions of Call of Duty: Ghosts, Madden NFL 25, Battlefield 4, FIFA 14 and Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag.

Of course – there are some rules you’ll need to adhere to. You’ll first need to be a PowerUp Rewards member and in order to qualify for the trade-in promotion, the Xbox 360 version has to be purchased within 30 days of its launch date. When the game is traded in for its Xbox One version, those customers will receive a $50 credit coupon in their PowerUp Rewards Active Offer as well as via email. In other words, the $50 credit won’t be usable after you trade in the Xbox 360 version for the Xbox One version, instead, the $50 credit will need to be used for an upcoming purchase.
