google-glass-exploitIt seems that Internet search giant Google who has also made inroads into many other markets which are different from their original “calling” intends to boost up their Glass eyewear device by purchasing patents from, of all people, Foxconn. I wonder what Apple executives will think about this particular situation, considering how Foxconn is one of the primary manufacturers for Cupertino. Bloomberg also mentioned that Foxconn had already confirmed the sale of patents for wearable technology that will see action in gaming and training simulations.

We have absolutely no idea as to the terms of the deal, and neither did Google nor Foxconn have something to say about it. This bit of news also comes approximately a month after Google threw in some dough to invest in chipmaker Himax in order to to help boost production of the company’s liquid crystal on silicon chips and modules, where both parts are readily found in Google Glass. What do you think that Google will do with the patents that they picked up from Foxconn, and just how important will those patents be in shaping up the next generation of devices? Apart from what, will it affect Apple’s relationship with Foxconn in the long run?
