ios7-beta5Word on the street has it that Apple’s iOS 7, the next generation version of Cupertino’s mobile operating system, looks set to hit the masses sometime next month. One particular rumor that seemed to continue making its rounds without stopping was that the new iPhone 5S (which will come in four different starter colors, apparently) and budget-oriented iPhone 5C will be announced this coming September 10th, with the new handsets rolling out on September 20th. Unfortunately, there is no word on when the iOS 7 update would be pushed out to the masses, but this latest leak points to the possibility of iOS 7 being announced at the launch event itself, without having to wait for the new devices to hit the market.

This bit of information hails from a certain developer known as Owen Williams, who happened to receive an email from Nuance, the team behind Siri. In this particular email, Nuance mentioned, “As you are probably aware, iOS 7 GA will be released on September 10th.” iOS 7 GA translates to “general availability”, which is where this particular conclusion came about. Of course, nothing is in concrete just yet, so whatever you hear right now until then – treat it with a grain of salt.
