An allegedly leaked iPhone 5S front panel has been compared with the iPhone 5, the pictures reveal minor differences. Part of the reason why Apple’s upcoming iPhone is called iPhone 5S is that no one expects major design changes, given that previous iPhones with the “S” moniker have only featured major changes under the hood. One difference that stands out on the purported iPhone 5S front panel is the redesigned and longer ribbon cable. Apart from minor tweaks and moved screws, no substantial changes can be noted.

Not much has changed around the Home button as well. We have heard a lot of rumors about the possibility that Apple might integrate a fingerprint scanner in the Home button. If that is the case, one can expect some internal changes to accommodate that particular sensor. It should be mentioned here that Apple has a patent describing a fingerprint sensor that’s actually embedded in the display itself, but it remains unclear if that technology will debut with the iPhone 5S. As is the case with purported components, we can not confirm that this front panel really does belong to Apple’s next generation iPhone. [Images via LetemSvetemAppleM]
