coolpix-l620Another day, another digital camera, and this time around, it would be the Nikon Coolpix L620 that would come under the radar. The Nikon Coolpix L620 happens to be a high-power zoom compact model that will come with a backside illumination CMOS sensor as well as 14x optical zoom NIKKOR lens, ensuring you end up with a device that is capable of capturing of high-quality images at telephoto zoom positions, or perhaps even in dimly lit surroundings.

This 18.1-megapixel shooter is capable of capturing images that exhibit very little noise even at the high sensitivities required if you happen to shoot night landscapes and pictures snapped indoors with very little lighting. There is also a bunch of advanced functions that will accompany the Nikon Coolpix L620, including Target Finding AF, where the user will just need to point the camera at the intended subject, and the camera will be able to identify and focus on the subject immediately. Nice to see that it runs on AA batteries, which are more or less universally available. There is no word on pricing or availability as at press time though. [Press Release]
