vita-price-cutSometime last week, we did talk about how the PS4 has been rumored to receive a PS Vita bundle for $500 later this year, but that remains to be seen or confirmed, so patience is the only way to see through such rumblings on the grapevine. Well, on a different note, a recently spotted ad over at Target offers a whole lot more concrete information than pure speculation where the PS Vita’s pricing details are concerned – that is, we should be seeing $199 price tags over the PS Vita soon – at Target, at the very least.

This would jive with rumors that Sony could very well make an official announcement concerning a price cut for the PS Vita sometime during next week’s Gamescom. The leaked ad was posted by a member of Blu-ray.com, who claimed that the entire range of PS Vita models will see its price cut to $199.99 as part of a sale that will be happening next week, which would be a discount of $50 to $100 off its normal selling price. Do you think that the PS Vita is long overdue for a price cut by Sony after rather lackluster sales of the portable gaming console since its release in 2011? After all, price cuts tend to result in a temporary boost in sales figures.
