Anyone who has watched Ted would know that this is one trash talkin’ teddy bear that has separation anxiety issues (among many others), but here is an alternative – and a real world one, where it is known as the Teddy Supertoy which was specially developed to talk to you just like a normal, sane human would. It is right now a Kickstarter project that needs your financial co-operation in order to be realized, and potentially ensuring that kids everywhere will be happy with their Christmas present.

Its predecessor, Teddy Ruxpin, operates using an embedded cassette deck alongside a fixed number of pre-recorded statements, which is practically antiquated with the arrival of the Teddy Supertoy. It not only boasts of complex facial movements that resembles human emotions, but it also boasts of totally autonomous speech generation capabilities. A smartphone app is required to work hand in hand for it to happen, of course, and we look forward to the day when someone takes all the time and trouble to map out the entire range of responses, what makes Teddy Supertoy tick and what ticks it off. Move aside, Furby, there is a new challenger in town! [Kickstarter Page]
