umeox-x5Back in June, we talked about how Umeox X5 is all set to be the thinnest smartphone in the world, measuring a mere 5.6mm in terms of thickness that might have some of us who have the phobia of our smartphones snap into half when we place it in our back jeans pocket and sit down unwittingly. Well, this Chinese-made Android-powered smartphone does look set to be unveiled pretty soon – and the IFA event in Berlin is where all the speculated action is going to be. Of course, one of the major disputes concerning the Umeox X5 would be its screen size, where it was mentioned to arrive with a 5.3” display in June, but now there are whispers of a 4” display – which would certainly make it a whole lot smaller.

I guess as with all other rumors, one will just have to wait until the final device is released before we are able to arrive at a definite conclusion. Will it arrive with an 8-megapixel shooter at the back and a 3-megapixel shooter in front, or will it feature a pair of 5-megapixel cameras instead? MediaTek will reportedly offer the processor to be used within, and it is also speculated that the Umeox X5 will arrive in Europe under the moniker of the Thomson X5.
