Disney is no stranger to re-releasing their films to make even more revenue from moviegoers who prefer to watch their favorite films on the big screen. For several years, Disney has for the most part re-released their films in 3D, but they’ll soon be asking moviegoers to bring their iPads with them to the next time they watch one of their films as they’re announcing a special Second Screen Live showing of The Little Mermaid.

Disney has created an iPad app that viewers would need to download prior to making their way to their local theater which will allow them to experience the film in an entirely new way as it’ll include synchronized movie trivia, games and sing-a-longs, which we’re sure both parents and children will want to partake in while watching The Little Mermaid.

The Little Mermaid Second Screen Live will have a limited, monthlong run at El Capitan in L.A. starting on September 15, although additional theaters will show this special version of the Disney classic starting on September 20. We’ve gone ahead and included the theaters and their locations below, just in case you want to plan a move night with your family, friends or any other The Little Mermaid fans that would appreciate a second-screen experience while watching the film on the big screen.
