gta-5-e3-screenshot-8Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto 5 is one of the most anticipated games of 2013 and undoubtedly will bring in a lot of sales for the developer, but exactly how much? Well according to Take-Two, the company managed to pull in a whopping $800 million in 24 hours, making this the most successful Grand Theft Auto game to date (as far as first day sales are concerned, gameplay and feedback could be a different story).

According to Take-Two’s CEO, Strauss Zelnick, “All of us at Take-Two are thrilled with the initial response to Grand Theft Auto V. Once again, the team at Rockstar Games have outdone themselves, setting the entertainment industry’s new standard for creativity, innovation and excellence.”

While the company probably has other expenses and bills they need to pay, the $800 million in sales has probably allowed the company to at least recover the cost of making the game, which according to earlier reports had it pegged at $265 million, making it one of the most expensive video games made to date. So, who else got their hands on Grand Theft Auto 5 when it was released?
