sony-a77There is a lot of competition these days in the camera industry, what with companies such as Sony, Nikon, Canon, Olympus, Pentax, and etc. all fighting for market share and control. While having great products is one way to attract customers over to your side of the fence, great customer service is another one. After all no one likes the idea of having bad after-sales support right after dropping few thousand on new cameras and lenses, right? Well according to the folks at Sony Alpha Rumors, that’s exactly what Sony has planned.

According to one of their trusted sources, they claim that Sony could be gearing up to launch a “PRO Service” in the near future. This service will be aimed at photographers and Sony camera owners and could offer up services such as a faster repair service, for example. It would also come with a hotline that photographers can reach Sony at if anything goes wrong with their camera. The exact details of the “PRO Service” remain unknown at this point in time, or if it is even true for that matter, but the idea behind it is to make the switch to Sony an easier and more pleasant one. What do you guys think? Will offering up better support make it an incentive for photographers to switch camera brands?
