alcatel_onetouchWhile Alcatel might not necessarily be a name one thinks of when it comes to smartphones and tablets (admittedly they did pretty well for themselves during the days of feature phones), it does not mean that the company should stop trying and thanks to a recently leaked press render, thanks to @evleaks, it seems that we might be able to look forward to new Alcatel OneTouch Pop tablets in the near future. These tablets appear to be part of the company’s OneTouch Pop family where previously they had released smartphones under that lineup. Those phones were of the budget variety and were destined for emerging markets in Asia, so it is possible that the same could be said for these upcoming tablets as well.

The press render shows a variety of colors that the tablets will be available in, although the backplates are removable so for those of you looking to switch things up, you will be able to swap colors when you feel like it. No word on pricing, specs, or availability, but like we said, if these tablets are of the same family as the budget OneTouch Pop smartphones, we expect that it will be affordable, but don’t expect killer specs just yet. Either way we’ll keep our eyes and ears peeled for more information regarding these tablets, so be sure to check back with us in the future for more updates!
