logitech-ue-mini-lgPortable speakers don’t necessarily provide the best audio if you’re looking for an audiophile listening experience, but then again its portability is its selling point, although Logitech seems to have found a pretty decent balance with its Ultimate Ears lineup. If you’re in the market for new portable speakers with decent audio, Logitech has announced an upgrade to their UE Mobile Boombox in the form of the UE Mini Boom. It is essentially a smaller version of the Boombox but at the same time has been designed to withstand a certain amount of abuse, thanks to its metal frame and rubber housing, which would make it an ideal traveling companion to outdoor locations where it might be accidentally dropped or bumped around during transit.

The UE Mini Boom will pair with devices via Bluetooth with a range of up to 50 feet, and the ability to pair with multiple devices simultaneously through its companion app which will be compatible with iOS and Android devices. According to Logitech, they claim that the UE Mini Boom will be able to last up to 10 hours on a single charge, and will also sport NFC connectivity for devices that support it. The speakers are expected to be made available for purchase later this month for a price of $100.
