nexus 5While we have seen many leaks of the upcoming Google Nexus 5 device, a launch date is still up in the air, with some believing that an October launch will happen, while others think that November launch is more likely. In any case according to the folks at Mobile Syrup, they claim that according to their tipsters, they believe that the Google Nexus 5 handset will see a launch on the 31st of October and will be available for purchase via Google Play. For our friends and readers in Canada, the Nexus 5 is rumored to make its way to Canadian carriers about a week later and you guys can expect to get your hands on the device on the 7th or 8th of November. Of course since neither Google or LG has announced anything yet, take it with a grain of salt for now.

It is widely believed that Google will launch Android 4.4 KitKat and the Nexus 5 side-by-side, and last we heard, KitKat was rumored for a 28th October release which does not tie in with the recent rumor, but like we said, take it with a grain of salt for now. Given the Nexus 5’s rumored 5” Full HD display and quad-core chipset, it is not surprising that many are looking forward to the handset and with October coming to an end, we guess we won’t have to wait much longer to see if the rumors pan out.
