Rumor has it that Nokia might be working on a smartwatch of its own. A couple of images of what is believed to be a smartwatch developed by the Finnish manufacturer have leaked online. At this point in time, no additional details are available about this device. Nokia itself hasn’t said if it is working on such a product. Information about specifications has not been provided with the leaked pictures.
Nokia has an event scheduled on October 22nd in Abu Dhabi, UAE. There, the company is expected to unveil six new devices. We’ve already heard about the possibility of a Nokia tablet, phablet and a couple of new smartphones launching there. While it hasn’t been rumored as yet if this smartwatch will make an appearance at the event, the possibility of it being unveiled at the event exists, but that is purely speculative as of now. Microsoft too is said to be working on a smartwatch of its own. It remains to be seen if this particular Nokia project will be transferred to Redmond as well, once the company’s $7 billion acquisition of Nokia’s hardware business closes. The smartwatch niche already has a lot of players, both big and small, do you believe that Nokia is willing to jump in as well? [Images via CtechCN]
