screen-shot-2013-10-24-at-9-18-44-pmPlanning on picking up an iPad mini for yourself, especially since the prices have dropped with the announcement of the iPad mini 2 with Retina display? Well if you are, you might be interested to learn that a new color version of the iPad mini has been released, and it is the Space Gray finish for those who are interested. The update model with the Space Gray finish has been available via Apple’s online store since Tuesday and will be replacing Apple’s Black and Slate versions of the tablet, presumably to add a bit of consistency across the board.

In any case according to a smattering of reports, the Space Gray tablet is not available across all of Apple’s retail stores yet, so if you were planning on picking it up physically, you might want to call ahead to see if your store has any in stock. The first-gen iPad mini has had its price lowered and for those who aren’t fussed by Retina displays, you can pick one up for yourself for $299 for the 16GB WiFi-only version, a slight discount from its original price of $329. So, anyone planning on picking up the original iPad mini, or is a Retina display tablet too good to pass up?
