Going social seems to be the big thing these days, and Looxcie has come up with their latest Looxcie 3 wearable social video camera that will start from $99.99 onward. Looxcie is no stranger to the world of wearable cameras, as we have seen the Looxcie HD in the past, but the Looxcie 3 intends to bring something new to the table. Specially designed to deliver a social experience without it being too much of a hassle, it offers plenty of bang for your hard earned buck. You will be able to pair the Looxcie 3 over Wi-Fi using the Looxcie companion app, where you are then be able to stream live video directly to those who are interested in checking you out at that moment – on your Facebook wall, or using the Looxcie Facebook App.
Needless to say, in order to make it more engaging, the Looxcie companion app would be free to download from the Google Play or iTunes App Store. It features a lens that has 100 degrees field of view, where a plethora of accessories enables you to clip it, hang or mount the camera itself onto a shirt, backpack or necklace. There are also covers that offer additional protection, and just in case you are about to embark on an adventure that would require you to get wet, an IPX-8 rated waterproof case is also available. Adrenaline junkies would want to check this out for sure. I do ask myself, is this the poor man’s version of Google Glass with far less limited features and functions?
