xbox-one-hands-on-review-02Just like what Sony did a few days before the Sony PlayStation 4 was released, Microsoft has also announced that the Xbox One’s day one patch is also available for download now, so if you have pre-ordered the console and don’t want to wait for the console to patch itself on the day you get it, you will be able to download it onto a USB stick, plug it into the console when it arrives, and have it patched immediate to get ready to play! Of course this will be handy for those who are worried that they might run into internet issues on that day, or who would rather not sit around and wait for a patch to download.

For those looking to download the patch, all you’d have to do is hit up the Xbox support site and download it. Now there are two files to download, with each file for a different operating system that your Xbox One could run on. It has been advised that you download both just in case you download the wrong one and have to redownload it again. The rest of the instructions on how to patch the console can also be found at the Xbox support site, so perhaps you’ll want to bookmark it or print it out and keep it when your console arrives. We had previously reported that the Xbox One would require the day one patch if gamers wished to use it, so perhaps getting an early start on the download would be a good idea.
