me4-playableFans of the Mass Effect game series, listen up! You might be extremely pleased to hear that the next version of the game, which would be Mass Effect 4 (or at least that is what we know at this moment since nothing else is forthcoming), happens to be ambling along far enough down the road to be a playable title. How do we know this? Well, BioWare Edmonton and Montreal general manager Aaryn Flynn did comment over on Twitter that he has been spending some time playing with it, and his tweet read, “Great time playing the next Mass Effect game in Montreal. Ambitious. Beautiful. Fresh but recognizable. And fun.”

Right now, BioWare Montreal are the ones who is developing the next Mass Effect title. While the design document happens to be complete, there is very little else heard about it. What do we actually know about the game then? Well, it will not have Shepard in the game, and it will run on the Frostbite 2 engine which would see it share several in-game mechanics with Dragon Age: Inquisition. Does this mean that the next Mass Effect game will lean more towards the traditional RPG line than a shooter? Only time will tell.
