Handheld-Nautiz-X1-rugged-enterprise-smartphone-gorilla-glassIf you’re in the market for a rugged smartphone, there are a plethora of devices to choose from, although if you’re looking for the toughest enterprise smartphone in the world, the Nautiz X1 is a phone you might be interested in checking out. The company behind the Nautiz X1 is currently boasting that its smartphone is the toughest smartphone in the enterprise market, and given that sometimes some people have to travel to harsh conditions in order to work, we can only assume that they would prioritize ruggedness and durability over premium materials like glass and metal.

Featuring an IP67 ingress protection rating, this means that the Nautiz X1 will be able to withstand immersion in water and withstand dust. It also meets the military’s STD-810G standards for enduring humidity, vibration, shock, and also extreme high and low temperatures. Now just because a phone is made rugged does not mean it has to be bulky, and the Nautiz X1 is hoping to disprove that notion as the handset weighs less than 180 grams, making it relatively light for its device class.

In terms of specs, the handset will feature a 4” sunlight-readable touchscreen display made from Gorilla Glass, a 1GHz dual-core processor, and will be accompanied by 1GB of RAM. It will also feature the usual connectivity options, such as Bluetooth, WiFi, and will come with a built-in compass, a professional u-blox GPS, and a 5MP camera, and will run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Alternatively it can also boot to Microsoft’s Windows Embedded Handheld 6.5 operating system. The Nautiz X1 is currently shipping and is available for purchase.
