Fujifilm-FinePix-S1[CES 2014] While most of us might think of cameras as devices used to capture moments and to snap photos of our food, there are professionals out there who use cameras to document events, such as nature, wars, natural disasters, and etc. Those professionals typically require cameras that are rugged and can resist the elements, such as water, which is why if you’re after such a camera, Fujifilm has announced the FinePix S1, which they are calling the world’s first “weather resistant” super zoom bridge camera that is able to withstand both rain and dust.

Going beyond its weather protection, the FinePix S1 will also feature hardware specs such as a 16MP CMOS sensor and a bright 50x super zoom 24mm f/2.8-5.6 24-1200mm zoom lens with ultra-fast zoom speed and 2x Intelligent Digital Zoom, which will allow photographers to zoom up to 100x. The camera will also come with a vari-angle 3” LCD display that allows photographers to get down and in on weird angles while still being able to see the screen comfortably. Alternatively the FinePix S1 will also come with a 0.2” EVF which can also be used if you do not wish to use the LCD display.

The camera will come with built-in WiFi connectivity which will allow users to wirelessly share and transfer photos to their smartphones or tablets, and will also allow photographers to use their mobile devices as a remote through the Fujifilm Camera Remote app. Priced at $499.95, the Fujifilm FinePix S1 will be available come March 2014.
