garmin-nuvi-2014-essential-series[CES 2014] Garmin today announced a number of devices that expand its automotive navigation lineup. Customers now have more choice when it comes to kitting their vehicles with premium navigation products. The company has just unveiled the 2014 Essential Series which boasts affordable nüvis with 5 and 6 inch displays. These nüvis provide customers with standalone navigation capability with spoken turn-by-turn directions.Touting bright 5 and 6 inch dual orientation displays, nüvis in the 2014 Essential Series offer premium features which were previously limited to Garmin’s Advanced Series of navigators. On select models, lifetime traffic avoidance is featured as well, which used to be excluse to Advanced Series in the past. School Zone Warnings, Points of Interest and even a search field to find addresses are included as well as Up Ahead, a feature that will display a continuous stream of points of interest next to the map. All navigators in the Essential Series have detailed maps preloaded and they do not rely on cellular data to pull in maps, so customers won’t have to worry about cell tower range or dead zones. The nüvi 2014 Essential Series carries suggested retail prices that range between $129.99 and $209.99.
